LSD gear oil in non LSD differential?

I can not find the plain Valvoline 75W90 gear oil I use in my rear differential anywhere. Seems that Valvoline is only selling 75W90 with the LSD additive already in it. I did a search here and on Google but didn't really find a solid answer to my question:

Is it OK to use a gear oil with LSD additive in a non-LSD differential?

And what about the generic brands of 75W90 out there, like the Coastal they sell at some parts stores and Super Tech from Walmart? Are they as good as Valvoline? I have used only Valvoline gear oil since I have owned my truck.

No problens using the lsd oil.

As Steve said, you'll be fine using the LSD GL-5 gear oil. Stick to a quality name like Valvoline or Pennzoil and avoid the generics.

A lot of gear oils have LSD additives, it won't hurt anything.
