I asked Molakule this question a little over 3 months ago and here is his response.

A Decene homopolymer hydrogentaed is a PAO type fluid in which hydrogen has been injected to oxidatively stabilize the fluid.

read in an older mag 2012 performance bikes where Decene is used to make PAO oils. said it comes from crude oil + it takes a lot of crude to get a little Decene, the ONLY molecule used, hence the claim all molecules are the same so theres lower friction with numerous other benefits, but at a higher production cost making the oil more to buy

The decene doesn't come out of the crude oil. Ethylene (ethene, C2H4) gas does, which is used to make decene (and other monomers), which is used to make PAO.

might this be why it looks like a petroleum lubricant when the specs are read, many readers myself included are always looking to learn + understand exactly what we are buying, what oil manufacturers-blenders are saying or trying to hide in many cases
