Wacky. It's the bicycle equivalent of the rotary engine! It doesn't look like it reduces the complexity of the drivetrain much, if at all. The primary benefit is probably cleanliness, but a chain guard can do that too. You'd still have to tie up baggy pant legs so they don't get caught in the pulleys. It will be interesting to see if this idea goes anywhere.

Slippage? Is that the nice way to describe the drivetrain abuse of shifting under power?
