This code has to do with governor pressure in the transmission. Transmission works and shifts fine. I had a code similar to this fixed a year or two ago where they had to drop the pan and replace a few things at a cost of $500. In that situation the transmission did not shift until 4000 RPM. It shifts fine with this code. How long can I wait to have this fixed?

What engine and transmission, 44 RE with a 4.0 or 545 RFE with the 4.7

In the 44 RE there is a govenor pressure solenoid and a pressure transducer. If you open the pan and have to replace one, you should do both.

I would go to Jeeps unlimted board and do some searches over there. I wouldnt leave it for long, get if fixed

OK, I looked it up and about 20K miles ago and 2 years ago I got a P1762 and a P1757 code, a local transmission shop replaced the governor solenoid and sensor ($500 total bill).

Today I only get the P1757 code. I cleared the code and it cam back in 10 minutes. (Maybe when it warmed up??). Before it would not shift until say 4000 RPM, now it shifts fine.

The pressure transducer is about $100
