What oil filter do all of you suggest I use in my 99' Corolla? The car has almost 120,000 miles; I have been using the Toyota filter faithfully on every change. I am just getting the itch to try another filter (normal for a BITOG fan, right?

) By the way, my last analysis put the insolubles at 0.3%.

Corolla's are pretty darn reliable and un-fussy machines.....it doesn't really matter WHAT filter you use on it...at 120k miles, it's got LOTS of life left!

From my notes in my PDA

Fram/AA/SuperTech 4967 or larger 4386

Wix 51394 Small
Wix 51396 Larger

I've never tried the 4386, so I'm not 100% certain. However, I do know that as long as you have the clearance, either of the Wix filters works on the Toyota 4 cylinders. I keep them for both my Pontiac Vibe (Toyota 1.8L 1ZZ-FE) and the 2002 Camry with the 2.4L 2AZ-FE engine.

WIX 51396 OR NAPA SILVER 21396 ARE THE 2 BEST FILTERS FOR THE SMALL TOYOTA ENGINE in my experience ...ooops, soory about the caps lock :[ Unless you can get the Japanses Denso 90915-10003/4. I cant find them - they are Foam element not paper.

On my 94 Prizm, I have been using M1,Purolator Pure One,K&N filters.1993-2002 model year Corollas use the same filter.I have never used an OEM filter.I think the filters I use are better built than Thailand, China made Toyota OEM filters.

Pureolator PureOne....best bang for the buck.

An easy 5K OCI w/conventional....and 7500 OCI with a SYN.

Filter: Mobi1 1 EP

I think Supertech is way overrated. Flimsy metal can.
If you want a quality filter, use Wix/Napa Gold or Purolator PureOne.

Will the Napa Gold 1516 fit the 2.4? The Gasket OD is 2.734. I am still looking for a 10k OCI filter for 2 Yotas with the 2.4.
