Drained out 10+ year old oil from my 1981 Craftsman push mower with 3hp Briggs & Stratton. Refilled it with bulk 15w40 at my work. Then got the engine to run on gas poured in carb, would not run off gas in tank even after flushing it out. Took carb apart and cleaned it, after getting the mower running properly for a short period of time we drained it again and refilled with bulk 15w40.

I'm going to let it get used for a little more before draining a 3rd time and putting in Mobil 1 5w30.

BOLENS riding mower with B.&S. 13.5 h.p. engine . 3rd O.C. since new . SHELL full synthetic 5w-30 . Overfilled by 4 oz.. Should I be concerned ? Hate to drain it . It's messy due to the drain plug being at the bottom R.H.side and need the plastic drainer that came with it . Doesn't fit tight to the block and oil leaks on frame and under the engine . Royal pain the _ _ _ to clean up . Done with O.C. until end of OCTOBER or so . Supposed to be above average temps in the N.E. through OCTOBER , looks to be a long season of mowing .

The temp was up in the high eighties around here today.

Usually I wait till it down in the twenties in December before I get around to getting the snowblowers ready.

Fooled 'em this year, lol.

Felt bad for one of the work Cushman Trucksters, they can go 300-400 hours without service. 18 hp Kohler V twin

So I noticed that this one had 195 hours on the oil and the level was at the bottom of the hatches.

So I just dropped the oil in the pan and filled it up with one qt of HD30W and the balance of HD 10/30. Better than nothing!
