I thought it might be interesting to see how long our members servers have been running without a reboot. These are all production Linux boxes that I manage:

mighty:~# uptime
13:30:49 up 490 days, 16:39, 1 user, load average: 0.96, 0.85, 0.84

media2:~# uptime
04:20:44 up 581 days, 1:34, 1 user, load average: 0.57, 0.63, 0.46

media:~# uptime
12:59:11 up 497 days, 2:06, 1 user, load average: 1.54, 1.22, 1.61

www:~# uptime
13:25:39 up 335 days, 2:11, 2 users, load average: 0.44, 0.45, 0.45

This is the main family computer/ household file server; for email, web surfing (P4 1.7GHz, 512MB RAM):

$ uptime
14:44:07 up 54 days, 19:59, 3 users, load average: 0.20, 0.25, 0.19

The uptime would have been much longer, but I am running Debian Squeeze (Testing) and there was a kernel update that I needed to get my Nvidia driver to work and had to reboot.

My home server: 78 days and counting (kubuntu, running continuously since it was unpacked).

Home laptop (unibody Macbook): 147 days and counting.

Work computer (Core 2 Duo, XP Pro SP3): 3 hours, and looks like it'll need another reboot in the morning.

Sadly, I think the box I have with the highest uptime will be one of the Windows boxes at home. I just built a new VPN box, so that's less than 24 hours, and my Solaris laptop is just that, a laptop, so it seldom accumulates more uptime than a weekend.

My Windows XP File/Media server I'm running has been up 111 days without a reboot.

It's behind on security updates but because it's not open to the internet and has restricted access to our network only I don't bother to update it.

It was funny because I hadn't looked at it in about 2 months and something performed and illegal operation and the message was on the screen since then.

I just rebooted it because the mouse pointer was moving very slow when I moved the mouse so I think it needed it.
