Back from the trip.

So 2 oil changes for the Outback in 3 weeks!

2007 Outback 2.5l NA

Pennzoil 5w-30 (new label) yellow bottle with a Wix filter.

2001 Ford F150 SuperCrew 4.6L

Red Line oil - 6 qts 5W-20, 0.5 qts 5W-30
Motorcraft FL-820S

Planning to run it for ~7500 miles then have a UOA done

Just mailed the previous fill (Pennzoil Ultra 5W-30) off to Blackstone.

2010 Subaru WRX

Changed out free oil change Valvoline 5-30 blend + Subaru filter done at 3500 miles with Motorcraft 5-30 blend + Pureone filter at 7300 miles.

Planning on digging into my stash at 10k miles with a 4k oci to meet warranty needs. Subaru calls for a 3750 oci with a turbo.

Just changed both cars today. Used the last of my $10.88/5L Valvoline in the G6 with a Wix filter. The G5 I only ran 5000km and will do the same with the Pennzoil & Wix that I put in there this time. Then I'm probably going to start using a synthetic in both, PP, Petro-Canada or maybe even GC at least in the G5 and get some analysis done.

Wife is taking a long drive to Elmira, NY for her college reunion. I am NOT a fan of an OC before a long trip (no need whatsoever unless you will overshoot your OCI) But I wanted to get something MORE viscous in the sump on "Ole' Knocky" the 09 Forester with a persistent hot engine knock. Was going to use Shell Rotella 5w40 T6 but opted for Delo 400LE due to $$(and no need for 5w in the Summer!). Car runs smooth on this oil, and I see no noticeable fuel mileage issues. She still knocks when warm and mileage goes down when hot. K-sense pulling timing?

Folks to show what vehicle and what oil/filter. Does a couple of things;

1. Shows what oils are being used.

2. If a member is thinking about a certain oil, they can browse through this thread and PM the member using that oil.

Keeping it in one thread is a good thing!

Castrol Tection Extra 15W-40+ARX.
Fram (flame me please) filter.
First time on this car.
Will run this oil with the ARX for ~ 5K, then use the rest of my small $3.74/gallon Tection stash for a 3K rinse, leaving two quarts for the mowers.
We'll see how she likes this oil, since I'm not sure what grade Castrol was in it.
Seemed pretty thin on drain, but it is a hot day, and the car had been driven twenty five miles before I drained the oil.

20,790 miles : SHELL conventional 5w-30 and TOYO ( Denso ) oil filter as of yesterday . 2008 YARIS sedan . Previous runs since 1,200 miles were synthetic . Got leaking timing chain seal for 2008 and 2010 3 door with less than 6,700 miles . The 2010 has had synthetic since 1,200 or so miles as well . Hoping to see if the use of 5w-30 conventional will put an end to the leaks . Proving the myth that syns can cause leaking .
