A little ways back I was Prestige Arms and well known for new, transferable Colt M16 sales. Some of you may have heard of it. Anyway a friend got me back into it about 6 months ago. My major contribution is the electronics but I pulled out some of my collection of the best machine guns I had even seen:

I wish I had (a lot) more funds to be able to play with that fun stuff. A guy used to come into a range I worked at back in the day with NFA stuff (salesman to LEO) and we got to play with some of it.

It's cool that you want to educate gun people about lubricants.

What do you use on your guns?

I don't agree with a lot of the info posted about "batteries". Just because an alkaline cell starts out at a higher voltage with no load, doesn't mean it will perform better than a rechargeable cell. Put enough load on an alkaline and its voltage will drop significantly below that of a Ni-MH cell (which oddly isn't even mentioned).

Also, an 18650 is far larger than an AA sized cell (which is a 14500).

These "short" articles are just that, introductions into what is really a huge topic that takes years to learn. And then no one person can know everything about batteries. It is as motor oil.

The purpose was to introduce people to the principal that batteries may look similar but vary greatly in use / application, charging and longevity.

If you have limited knowledge and want to know more I recommend this site:

Pay attention to this area:

An older friend of mine in college was one of the people on the NiCad battery development team. I still have the original design and use book.

CPF is definitely a good resource. I used to spend a lot of time there (search my username) before I, for whatever reason, lost interest.
