I was at Wal-mart buying some Marvel Mystery oil. I looked up oil filter options for my 2009 Honda Accord. The SuperTech 7317 oil filter is a non-ecore. Any thoughts on who makes it and quality?

Its a Champ, most likely. Champ makes both Ecore and that older design. Below a certain can diameter, they cant use Ecore, not enough room. So they use conventional construction.
It's a fine quality filter for a good price. You can spend twice as much for a Wix or 4X as much for a Mobil 1 filter (also made by Champion), but I doubt you will get a filter that is twice as good or 4 times better. Next step up pricewise is a Purolator classic.
Great filter, been using ecores and classics for years. Great 5k filter.
