I have a Duralast SUV 2.5ton hydralic floor jack. It's only had light use, and is 1.5yrs old.

It no longer lifts, and I've done an air purge 4-5 times and refilled the oil. It leaks seemingly excessively from the piston/piston chamber interface.

darn thing was about $90. Its warranty was 1 year.

Is this thing repairable? Will the fix be more costly than buying a new jack?

Hiball (the poster that did the jack tutorial on GJ) can also sell you the parts at a cheaper price than most if you need any. The rubber "O" rings on that jack can most likely be found in an assortment of metric "O" rings. Good luck with the rebuild.

One thing to remember, the Asian style jacks that use "O" rings instead of a cup style washer need to be used fairly often to keep the seals lubricated.

Perhaps be sure to close the valve after each use. I found leaving the valve open caused mine to leak fluid.
