Is there a oil filter company that makes the best oil filter or is it broking up by application? For example Mann filter vs a Baldwin vs Champion. Thanks Joe

go to search first,,,,filter recommendations in here are inless and u will get a bizillion answers,,,,standby .....

Pretty much everything except FRAM is good (extendedguard excluded, they are good). Fram Orange and TG are serviceable, but not recommended for extended intervals. Also, stay away from E-core filters, there seems to have been a recent rash of defective, and failed filters.

This is a loaded question ... just like "what's the best oil?" or "what's the best car?".

All I can suggest is spend some time in the Oil Filter Forum and you will get a sense of what's the best based on your personal criteria.

a few brands are listed here a lot as being pretty good. Purilator Pure Ones, Baldwin, M1, and Wix are mentioned a lot as being really good filters.

Proven filters showing no major failure or defect.

They all change SOMETHING in the design fairly often. Champ went Ecore, Purolator shortened a lot of filters, WIX has many made outside the US, FRAM came out with a GOOD filter for a change, the list goes on....:)

A strong, loaded opinion with little to back it up.

LOTS to back it up, just search and look at the failed filter pics, hey lab want them free P1s yet?

Yet there have been countless cut ups of Ecores that have been fine. Also, the filters that were left outside in the rain for 6 decades dount count.

And a search would revile that argument/discussion has already been covered.

When you have a strong argument, you don't need to exaggerate. Leave that to those bashing the Ecore. We don't know how long those filters were out there, but too long for their condition to mean anything to the rational.
