2009 C300 4MATIC first oil change

Hello all,
My wifes new car is coming up on 10k miles in the next week or so and we are do for the first oil change. MB specifies M1 0w40 in that engine but I have a don of Valvoline synpower, castrol edge and castrol syntec can I use any of them?
I really dont feel like purchasing m1... what do you guys think??

You need oils on Mercedes Benz 229.5 list to keep warranty intact.

Other than Mobil 1 0W40, these oils are on the 229.5 list: Castrol Edge 0W30 and 0W40, Castrol Syntec 0W-30 European Formula and Valvoline Synpower HST

Plus, it's usually best to stick to one oil if you can. If you have an alternative and want to switch, feel free, but try to make it something you will continue to use. Otherwise, stick with Mobil 1 0w-40 IMO. It's a great oil anyway.
