I just got in from the AAP. I picked up a Bosch Distance Plus D3500 oil filter instead of my normal Pure One 30001. How does the Bosch compare?

It advertises more holding capacity than the P1.

They both say 99.9% efficiency. I assume that means they filter everything down to 40 microns?

Thicker can/base and an advertised holding capacity that is double the P1, same efficiency rating. IMO, the only way you get your money's worth is running it for an extended OCI of 12-15k. A quality filter though.

Actually it's down to 20mu on all but 4 filters and those happen to be the smallest which are indeed 40mu.

Hemi426, that should be 99.9% at 20 microns, not 40.

Thank you. Sounds like I can't go wrong either way. The Bosch was basically only like a $1.50 more anyway. I don't mind paying for quality.
