I realize you like Mobil 1 and think it is a fantastic oil. But using GM and Toyota as examples to build a case for how good Mobil 1 is might have been a poor choice. At least IMO. GM and Toyota are not, at least at this moment, good reps of top quality. To me they represent compaines with lots of problems, on a decline. Mobil 1 is held in much higher regard here, and considered a leader. Again JMO

Mobil 1 is a decent oil, I don't think its the end of everything and thats all everyone should need. I do use it on customer cars and my own Taurus SHO because i have some faith in it. It is one of the wider used synthetics and you don't see cars dropping off the road from Mobil 1 useage left and right.

I used them as a comparison, because it seems like when you are on top, everyone tries their best to dethrone you. When GM was on top, everyone tried to take em down a notch, most noticeably the Toyota kool-aid loyalty club. Now that Toyota whent on top, they recieve all the scrutiny..... I think its human nature of people to try to talk smack about popular things so it makes them feel better about what they got.... hence the whole point of the comparison, not to say that Mobil 1 is actually like Toyota or Chevy's business practices... just that it is very popular and the poo will be flung!
