Go to www.blackstone.com and request a kit. The kit is free but they will charge you when you send the oil in for analysis. Its like $25-$30 with shipping.
Warm up the engine. Make sure to actually run it under load, don't just idle.
Let the oil cool a little before draining but don't let it cool completely. Then pull the drain plug and let half of it drain. When its about halfway done, put the little Blackstone bottle under the oil stream and collect a sample.
Send it in.
Is it worth it? That's something you have to answer yourself. If you plan on keeping the engine for a while, I say go for it.
