Been running PP 5w20 for 7500K OCI's since 15K but driving habits have changed and I want to do 5K OCI's now. That said, I decided to run MC 5w20 and a MC FL-400S filter.
2004 Chevy Colorado w/85K
Been changing the oil every 5K because there has always been a lot of "burnt sludge" on the cam lobe(s) that I can see through the filler hole (truck was purchased used at 25K). Nothing has seemed to clean the baked on gunk so I thought I'd change it up. Havoline 5w30 (pre-DS) was drained. I put in 4.5 qts. of the new Rotella T6 5w40 and 1.5 qts. of MMO (MMO's recommended 25%). For a filter, I just went with a SuperTech. With 300 miles on the new fill, the truck is running great and things are looking cleaner already (dip stick and cam lobes).

1994 2.5 jeep wrangler, time on oil was 3500 miles, since september. Reason for such a short change is the jeep is only used for high-rpm offroading and desert stuff.
Replaced with a frankenbrew of
1 qt MMO
1 qt Chevronsupreme 10-30
1 qt Supertech 10-30
1/2 qt old API Mobil Clean 5k 10-30
1/2 qt of SM Castrol GTX 10-30
with a Supertech st16 ecore, plan on running for 2k miles.

Malibu: 4 fresh quarts of Q-Horsepower 5w30 with a Napa Gold filter. There wasn't much time on the oil, but I took a sample anyway since this oil was punished through 3 blizzards, an ice storm, and record cold temperatures. Combine this with a ton of short trips, very little highway time, and a fair amount of low-RPM driving this UOA could be brutal.
been a busy week at the mechanic's.

this is an unusual one, i bought it 6 months ago with 3412 on it. so it hadn't even been worn in good in 5 yrs. little worried about the iron on this one, plus it is a factory turbo. we will see how the OA looks.

Wifes knocky 09 Forester gets whatever is cheap with a name brand (my under warranty paranoia) and can be bought near where I'm eating lunch if the stash is empty.

Froze my fingers doing the oc in 10degF windy weather - the thaw of the finger pain almost made me cry - I said almost!

2005 Subaru Forester,after 75585 miles of Castrol GTX 5w-30.Switched to Amsoil XL 5w-30 ,Amsoil filter 01/28.The XL does seem to do better at start up.
