I'm curious, what type of maintenence will make CV joints last forever?

How to grease them?

What type of grease?

I have Mystic JT-6 and M1 synthetic (red)

Thanks all.

MB CV joints last forever, and do not use grease. They are filled with an oil.

The downside is that while they will roll forever, the rubber, alas, does not. After about 25 years, the rubber will split, and then the oil flows out - things do downhill.

But that said, not sure how you really maintain rubber for 25 years under those conditions.
The key is to reboot!

In the MB diesel world, we care about hundredS of thousands of miles, not just getting along for a little while longer. Chinese made reman axles wont last long beyond 100k, whereas OE MB ones will go 500k miles if the rubber doesnt break.

So I say, reboot OE axles if they are in good working shape!
