funny how the amsoil salesman chimes in on the last post. i wonder if the results favored amsoil if he would be singing the same tune.

i use 5W20 royal purple in my mustang with a K&N filter, so far so good, the cars makin some serious power and does not at all get babied

I am not sure if this will be of much help , but here are a few pics I have on my computer of the cams on an 08 Mustang GT with around 7500 miles on it that belonged to a customer of mine . I had taken the valve covers off to have them painted while putting a supercharger on it . Up to this point , he has run M1 ,changed it at 2000, then again at 4000 miles. Was due another one after the work was finished.I want everyone to remember this while looking at the pics. He runs this car like it was stolen!

WOW did not read all of this book, but I want to also call out Royal Purple products. Is it the best... do not know.

I can say I have used it in my 1000+200 hp 15:1cr methanol injected race engine for 5 years and it gets the job done.

Now I use XRP 10W-40 and that is a true race oil.

I have found most of the time those that bash this smallish oil maker have no facts and sometimes it's based on wanting to push another brand.

Those Springs in the pic below are 305# on the seat and with .850" lift around 950# over the top. Takes a good oil to deal with that trust me.

Looks like the oil held up very well, and your air filtration is good. Blackstone UOAs aren't that good for seeing engine wear, but being mostly in line with universal averages you are probably fine on that front as well.

where do you rate the air filtration on the sheet? how can you tell?
I use a JLT II Cold Air Intake with a K&N cone type oil filter

Really !! That I did not know.. Interesting..
I assume the Moly number is because of the additive as well as the Zinc?

It is on this site. Wish I could find it for you but not enough time right now.

Here's teh VOA/UOA for my most recent RP5W20 test on a similar 5.4L 3V. Note they were from same batch. Previous oil was MC 5W20, so there was likely a tiny bit of additive pack transfer. Next runn (also from same batch" should be more "pure"

Ok with weather this weekend being nice, I was able to help my friend remove the Valve covers from his 2005 Mustang GT with 61,400 miles, he also used RP the entire time. His car is a Manual and drives the snot out of it, he has already killed one clutch. He is removing the covers to have them powder coated.

Here are pictures of his cams. (I did wipe them down for the pictures)
