Heh, last summer I accidentally put E-85 in my '87 Toyota Camry! Wasn't paying attention and it was somewhat cheaper.
Being 70-miles from home and expecting the worst, I tried to make it anyway and went for it. Suprisingly, the car ran ok - dang Toyota! I don't know the parameters the computer is allowed to adjust for, but it managed.
Realising what I did (tank wasn't completely empty and I didn't fill it up all the way either) I put regular 89 octane in when I got home. Didn't think to check my gas mileage though.
I wasn't sure of any long-term effects of the alcohol in an '87 2.0 FI Toyota engine, but it's still running strong at 270,000 miles.
Pretty cool in a way...
