Any good goop I can use on the external engine?

to stop a small leak? I put a new gasket kit (Athena) in my Yamaha XS400 and the head is spewing in a couple different places when running. I put the gaskets on dry and am regretting that now. I have heard to take a finger full of Hondabond and smear it around the mating surfaces. Any other (cleaner) ideas?

It has been my experience that after market gaskets just don't work in Yamaha.
Where is it leaking??

Permatex gasket compound works well. Probably cheaper too.

Ain't gonna happen. Not for a seep. It is a royal PITA job. The bike ain't worth it either.
