What is the difference, if any, between Lucas Red N' Tacky #2 and Lucas X-tra Heavy Duty? Both say they withstand high temps, high pressure, both are Grade-2 and are extremely water resistant. Would either one of these be good or would you choose one over the other?
The X-tra Heavy Duty is more for HD trucks, construction/farm equipment, etc. and exceeds requirements of Ford, John Deere and Case which seems a little better than the Red n' Tacky. This will be used for greasing my slip yoke on my half-ton Chevy. The only real difference I can see is that the X-tra Duty is smooth and the Red n' Tacky is Smooth and Tacky. Does the tackiness make it that much better?
I'm leaning more towards the X-tra Heavy Duty but wanted opinions from people that know oil and greases better than me.
