Posting on behave of someone:

Since I can't post on BITOG because on I'm an a "vacation" I am thinking about simply repacking the bad wheel bearing with grease till I can get a new one. I think I can do it with these, but I need to know what is the best stuff to use. I figure it has to be synthetic. Anyone have opinions on this?

I use marine grease because of its water resistance and low cost, $2.99 for 11 ounces at Autozone. Synthetic is also a very good choice but more expensive than the stuff I use.

+1. But you do need to change out the bearing. It's a huge safety problem.

A grease with moly may add hours...or minutes...to the life of that bad bearing. If you really need to take the risk, use moly grease. If you don't absolutely need to take that risk, change the bearing.
