Gold colored particles in drain oil?

What in the heck could this be coming from in a new dirt bike engine?

It's had several short drain intervals, as it is a 450cc.

I keep seeing it, no matter the oil used, etc..

So I am kind of concerned.

Wear metals? Clutch particles?

My vote is clutch chunks.

You prolly have a wet clutch, and the particles are from the clutch shoes/linings. The amount should taper off soon.

well since you didnt say what make or model, who the heck knows???
some of them are vastly different than others and dont even share oil with the tranny. so unless you get specific, good luck!

Yes, it's a wet clutch... shared oil...

Not trying to scare you but gold metal can be the bottom end bearings going out. If its not making any noise its probably something else.... break in/clutch particles.

Still need the make and model.

If you have the particle feel them. Are they sharp and hard (metal) of do they feel like cork (clutch).
