I don't see a reason why it wouldn't. Its suitability would be it's gpm rate and hp draw. You wouldn't want to take 5X as long to process the fluid you need to ..nor draw 5x the power you need to ..which works out to the same thing.

I imagine that a power steering pump from the junkyard would work for this purpose. The volume may not be high enough if the motor doesn't spin fast enough, but you should be able to find a variety of shivs to change that around on one end or the other ..assuming a belt drive. Direct coupling might work to compact the setup.
