OK, a Workout for Bob,
I have an 09 Silverado Duramax, 3500 HD CC Dually 4x4, horsefloat hauler, running 400 HP infront of an Allison 6 speed Auto, tow/haul mode, over 10 Metric Ton all up, about 12.5 Ton American... Very good performance in a luxury truck..Anyway: Local Dealer calls for Castrol Tection Global E.S. but I don't know anything about it.

Is it a synthetic? Amsoil is available but expensive and interstate in shipping... Delo 400 is also uncommon, as is Shell Rotella, both are highly regarded by myself from 50 years of service... Anyway, any info on Tection Global E.S.?

Thank you in advance. Lone Ranger in Oz... Out on the Last Frontier...

Pour point is -33c' so cant be synthetic base.

Toyota62 here in Oz, we run RX Super in all the Tojo gear. But the Duramax is a high tech 400 HP unit and the Dealer Specified the Tection Global E.S. which is supposedly the next grade better than RX Super.

For sure RX Super would work, maybe more frequent changes, but in heavy towing and longer changes (they say 10,000 kms, we say 7500 kms for sure) but they recommend the Global E.S.

I just know nothing about it, and since it is about $40 more for 20 litres, I just like to know the WHY of things... Ha!
