the cost isnt the same.

walmart after rebate PP = 1$/qt (20$-15 rebate)

walmart after rebate Edge= 3.20/qt (26$-10 rebate)

or did I miss a deal on castrol edge somewhere?

I just got my max limit of PP, I may go back for some edge
before that rebate ends.

Based on all the positive comments here I'd stick with PP. Edge is still to new a product, costs more (at least everywhere I shop), and I don't like Castrol products. So for me it's a pretty easy choice. JMO

PP 5qt. jug, $20 @ Wally World with a $15.00 rebate.

7500 mi OCI, easy for PP with a Pure One. Why pay more?

cost is not the same. advance auto coupon online $10 off $25 .
pp is on sale for $4.99 each quart.total comes to $15.85 for five with coupon
$15 pp rebate means total for 5 quarts is $1.28 with postage . you heard that right .$1.28 for 5 quarts!!!!
limit one per "household"

The Pennzoil deal really can't be beat at the moment. And its been proven to be solid well past 7,500mi in many applications.

I guess I will be the odd one out here. I would buy both, and be more happy with the Castrol Edge deal. I ran one 12,000 OCI on my Accord with the Edge, and had zero problems. I have never had any oil sent off for analysis, so I can't say this is a better oil (either one) however I still really like the Castrol Edge... If Castrol would do away with the dipstick commercials, lower the price just a bit more to $23 a 5 quart jug it would really be in line with the price of other oils.

I say buy both, stick one back, compare the two if you like... enjoy. I vote goes to Castrol if only buying one.

I got both PP and Edge because of the sales/rebates. Ive used PP several times before but the Edge is new to me. Edge claims to be a long OCI oil while PP does not. My own speculation is that Edge may be a bit more "synthetic" than PP. Not that it really matters. Im still going to run both oils for 10,000 miles. I do for all synthetics. My advice is, get them both because they are both on sale/rebate.

don't get me wrong I am sure it is a good oil especially with the rebate, but the holy grail of oils it is not and not worth the regular purchase price imho

Is there such a thing as the "holy grail of oils" that a consumer can afford? :)

Is Edge a group IV oil and Syntec is their less expensive group III, or what? Mobil 1 is group IV. Why do people pay more for Edge?
