Switching to synthetic

At what point, mileage wise, is it a waste of time to switch to a synthetic oil? (Passenger car)

Is it harmful?

Agreed...never a waste if it eases your mind and you don't mind spending the money.

Harmful..No. It might make a leaky engine leak a little more but HM Syn oil can help with that.

I do switch to synthetic at the next oil change that is needed, regadless of the mileage.

Hey...noob here...sorry if this sounds like a stupid question...but why would syn oil make a leaky engine leak more?
