Serpentine belt slipping on the AC only?

On a more serious note, I'm glad you've figured it out.


Yeah, sad thing is everything I said was related.

When the engine mounts get saturated with heat (from sitting the sun or garage after a drive), they soften up. That combined with the extra torque applied to the belt from being in Reverse and the AC kicking on is enough to make the mounts give to the point where the alignment changes enough for the belt to start making noise.

Crazy stuff. Sort of a "perfect storm."
