Hey guys, I'm looking for a cross reference (wix, amsoil, mobil 1 or any other high quality filter) for the oil filter on my 20hp briggs. The briggs filter number is 78-23545-0111. Thanks for the help. I feel as if I've looked everywhere.

Thanks for the help guys. The FL400 is a little too long, but it looks like there are 4 wix filters that match up with it, so I'll get the longest one that will fit. Thanks again.

I couldn't stuff the FL400s(ph3600) on my mower. But the smaller ph3614(Toyota 4.7L) filter fit perfectly.

15 microns, low restriction, more capacity, more surface area to cool oil if you have the room for the longer than stock B & S filters.

I use the Amsoils on my JD rider with a B & S 22hp

your 78-23545-0111 / 112607FF2 briggs crosses out to the wix 57035 2.3" You can use a longer filter if you have the room for it.

WIX makes NAPA Gold and CarQuest Blue filters. (identical except for the paint job)
For a NAPA filter, use the last 4 digits of the Wix#
For a CarQuest filter, replace the first 2 digits of the Wix# with 85.
Example. Wix 51348 becomes CarQuest 85348 or NAPA Gold 1348.

eoghan, thanks for the table. It's nice to have all of the choices in one place.

Anyone know who makes the briggs filters, or what their performance specs are?

Do you guys think the wix 51215 would also work? It crosses over to the m1-102, I believe. And, it has the same (that I can tell) gasket dimensions, threads and canister diameter.

After looking I can't really tell what the difference is between the wix 51348 and 51215? Little bit of burst pressure and micron rating is a little different. Is there anything else?

OOOOOOOH!! CHROME!

And yet another reason for my better half to call me an idiot.
