After some worrying and wondering what was going on with my Cummins, I finally figured it out. I had installed ARP head studs awhile back. I used ARP's lube on those studs... and I used a lot of it. It was all over my hands, torque wrench, etc. I used it on both sides of the washer, on the studs threads, and dabbed it on the bottom surface of the nut and inside (threads) also.... The analysis I did about 5000 miles later showed 60ppm of copper. I was obviously worried but didn't put the connection to this and the stud install... Now I've read that the ARP lube contains copper (among other things)...BINGO.... Since then my copper has steadily dropped back to the low normal range. Just an FYI for those who install head studs and use the lube... YOU WILL PROBABLY GET ABNORMALLY HIGH READINGS OF COPPER...

Didn't replace the stock MLS gasket... just added studs for added insurance (60lbs boost)...
