the bike is pretty old. it has campy nuovo record parts. what is this worth? is it a collector's bike? do they still make them?

It's not a matter of "where" but "when." 1985 sounds about right. Get into your time travel suit. There won't be any forums, though!
They are ultra quality parts but compared to todays stuff there is no comparison . Run the parts.

I've got to disagree with you here. I've owned and ridden high-end bike components from yester-year. I also own and ride a road bike with '07 Campagnolo Record carbon fiber components. The '07 stuff is much better quality, and functions more smoothly than anything I've used prior.
{EDIT} After re-reading Steve's post, I think we actually agree.
