I haven't rode the Jamis Dakota Comp before but I did ride the Jamis Durango which has some similarities. You might want to check out the Jamis Durango if its available, you get good components for that price range. The frame is 7005 aluminum which is a bit lighter than the 6000 series aluminum. I prefer mechanical disc brakes, just my opinion.
