Aftermarket Underbody rust prevention treatment?

From other people, they say the key is to spray the oil on a dry day and then bomb down some dusty roads right after. The dust helps hold the oil longer. Might be ok for a car that doesn't get driven alot in the winter.

Well that sounds plausible too. For the price it might be worth trying though. I haven't bothered but maybe next fall I'll give it a shot.

We should not encourage spraying of used motor oil as a rust preventive. Its very UN GREEN and works poorly if at all. My Dad used to pour used motor oil on dusty dirt roads near our summer house in NJ to keep down the dust, and it worked somewhat but very UN GREEN (1950s).

Surely there are better ways as already mentioned.
