McAfee (surprisingly) seems to have performed the best.......
Huh? What reports were you reading? The only thing McAfee beat Avira in was less false positives and slightly better scan speed.
But I don't pay for what I can get that it good............and free.........(I use free version of Antivir)

Just realized I was looking at the 2004 results.
DOH!!!
August results show G-DATA to have the best average. But Avira was a VERY close 2nd.

Avira has the best heuristics in terms of total number of detections, but it also has a lot of false positives. Not as many as Fortinet in this test though
