Have altered this engine - added a cooler - replaced a gasket. I use copper jacket and it would cause this type of event.

Copper is usually pretty high on GM vehicles, I wouldn't be real concerned about it. It is more than likely coming from your oil cooler.

High copper is common in the Duramax .. as milehighassassin said some attribute it to the stock copper oil cooler
... mine started out high and trended down to single digits (click on UOA in my sig) .. others have posted similar results ..
