Compare Mobil Synt S Special V 5W-40 to Delvac 1 and T&SUV. Looks like the "Euro Delvac 1" is a little thinner, has a little less sulfated ash, and has a higher flash point than the US Delvac 1.

VW 505.01 oils must be 5W-40. They musn't be any other viscosity.

In Europe they have an M1 0W-40 for for diesel engines, but not for the P/D engine.

I remember seeing the specs for both (M1 0w-40 and M1 0w-40 turbodiesel), and the only thing different was the label on the bottle. It's a marketing gimmick, me thinks. But yeah, it didn't say anything about PD.
