I have a 2002 Silverado with the 4.8L engine that is approaching 100,000 miles & I will be getting my first oil analysis done in about 1,000 more miles. This will give me 5,000 miles on the Mobil 1 5w30 synthetic that is in it.

What exactly is a UDL I see mentioned alot on here? Is it something I need to get?

My main reason for the analysis is to check on this engine & see how it is holding up, as well as make sure I am not pushing the oil too far.

I think bassadict69 means UBL.

An acronym in intelligence/military circles for Usama Bin Laden, I believe. Whereabouts unknown. Considered armed and extremely dangerous. $25 million price on his head.

On FBI Top Ten Fugitives list:

Wanted by Interpol:

No previous word on him being seen connected to a 2002 Chevy Silverado. Proceed at your own risk. Use of excessive force in the apprehension of UBL has been approved.

Unbeatable Defense Lawyer
Yes you need one.

Me too

I got some really bad habits...

Hmmm? Not sure what I meant now...& now that I am looking back through other posts, I can't find it.

What I was referring to was something on the oil analysis that costs extra to have done. (ok...now I am confused!)

Anyway...will the basic oil analysis cover everything I need to know?

So, if I understand the wikipedia article correctly, I should get it done in order to make sure I am not running too long between oil changes? Correct?
