MMO in 2-stroke pre-mix????

LR on http://motorbicycling.com/ asked if MMO is ok in a 2-stoke engine? (via the premix)

Anyone know?

I assume MMO will say it will help with oil gooze and such.

I'm talking at the recommended fuel treat rate (not in place of 2-stroke oil)

I'm sure that like others I have used it in a 2-stroke mix before without any ill effects. With a good 2-stroke oil, air cooled for air cooled engines etc., and after learning what actually is in that 2-stroke oil, don't feel it is very necessary or all that beneficial.

Marvel recommends a 25% replacement of the total planned 2-cycle - This is per their old forum.

They also state some have replaced all the 2-cycle with no issues

What chemical or compound found in MMO (or put in the name of your favorite high-priced COTS aadditive) that adds a POSITIVE characteristic to the final mix?


If you can't anwer in the affirmative, then you're wasting your hard-earned cash, IMHO.

I personally think it has some branejus and a measure of liquid wallitlitener.

The solvents might be useful in cleaning the carberator.
