I don't see how that would happen over 8-12 months. If the PI gets into the oil, it will be within that tank of fuel.
Here's the recommendation:

As long as you don't exceed this (even for a short drive) you should not get much PI in your oil. I put a bottle in less than 5 gallons of gas and this is NOT recommended - I could smell the PI in the drained oil.
So just make sure you have 10 gallons of gas in the tank and use 1/2 bottle, for example.
