I've heard this before and actually know someone who does this but I was thinking of getting input from people here.......does adding two stroke oil to diesel fuel help with lubrication issues, especially with the ULSD out there now. I know that it has been a practise for years: '94 or '95 VW had problems with injection pumps due to LSD coming out. we were replacing pumps in newer vehicles when usually an injection pump lasted for quite a long time. VW scratched their heads and finally realized that it was the low sulphur fuel. came out with an additive that we were suuposed to sell the customer. thats when some people started adding two stroke oil to their fuel. seemed to work. in '97 or '98 (memory is starting to go) VW came out with a redesigned pump and the problem disappeared.
does anyone here add two stroke oil to their fuel?? appreciate any input. i use power service additives. supposed to lubricate as well as condition fuel........my friend adds 2stroke oil to his fuel in his cummins. does so every fillup. he says it works. truck actually works better, according to him.
