First I hope I posted this in the right place.

I have a 2 stage air compressor that holds 2 quarts of oil, I used to have a heated garage at my old house, so I used just a plain 30w oil.
Now my compressor in in my pole barn that's not heated.
I use the compressor mostly in the summer when I think the 30w oil is fine.
What I need to try and find out is what is a good oil for cold weather use that will still protect the pump when it warm out.

check the industrial section.
heavy equipment has a 26 post thread on air compressor oil right at the top.

Many new compressors call for an automotive synthetic 5w30 oil. Buy some and pour it in.

Amsoil has a specialized compressor oil, you might want to try that.

20w or 30w, only unless owners manual call for a different spec.
In 10 years of sales, Coleman is the only company I see use 5w30 and it stated only to use Mobil synthetic. Any quality compressor oil will do.
