Which Oil for 525i BMW?

I just bought a 2004 525i BMW with 100,000 miles on it . What oil and weight would you choose?

There was no 535i offered in 2004. But if you do in fact have a 535i (3 liter turbo), then this thread covers your question:

I would go with GC 0w-30 if you can find it in your area. If not, and if you want something easily available in the store, then M1 0w-40, alternatively BMW 5w-30 oil from the dealer. If you feel more adventurous and like boutiqe oils, then Amsoil Euro 5w-40 would be another good one to use.

I agree, though my order of preference is GC 0w-30, BMW 5w-30, then M1 0w-40.

Id go with Delvac 1. Found at wally as Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5w-40.

Pretty sure that's not BMW LL-01 approved if the guy cares to stick to that.
