I just checked the Mobil website and for some reason the pour point is not listed on the 0w-40 oil.

I cant believe I am doing this, but it is really strange that it is not there. I know that people on here discussed the pour point relevance to base oil, and I dont want to jump to conclusions, but it is not on their website.

I wonder how much influence this website has.

Just an observation. I dont want to start another Mobil 1 conspiracy thread, but I thought it was interesting. I am using Mobil 1 0w-40 and am fine with it.
Anybody care to chime in?

I just got this off their website and am locking it in here for posterity:

My comment is not showing the pour point is not a concern. They even show the MRV viscosity which is rare in PDSs and is more important than pour point.

My guess is that it doesn't have as much group 4/5 in it as it used to since it no longer meets VW503.01. The front of the bottle states "European Formula", but it's not that same 0w-40 that's used in Europe which does, btw, show a pour point of -54.

On the main page of M1 0W-40 it does say it meets VW 503.01:
--------------------
Mobil 1 0W-40 meets key industry and car builder specifications for:

Mercedes MB 229.5
BMW Longlife 01

Porsche Approval List 2002
VW 502.00/505.00/503.01

GM-LL-A-025 (gasoline)
GM-LL-B-025 (diesel)

ACEA A3, B3/B4
API SM/CF
-------------------

It was -54c, same as the 0w-30. They now removed it and put the MRV viscosity in place of it.
