2008 Titan Tranny Fluid and Amsoil ATF

I have a 2008 Nissan Titan that I'd like to change the transmission fluid and transfer case fluid over to Amsoil ATF.

Is Amsoil ATF compatible with Nissan Matic J fluid.

FYI, this Titan does have a tranny dipstick.

I used Amsoil ATF in place of Nissan Matic D and the transmission shifts much smoother.

The Amsoil application list for a 2007 Titan lists Nissan Matic D for the transfer case so I'm assuming it would be the same for the 2008 model.

Just checked the owners manual for my 2008 and it recommends Nissan Matic D for the US.

Stick with the OEM fluid. It's the only fluid that is proven to work well in your application by the OEM.

Yes, in fact there is nothing really special about Nissan ATF. Amsoil ATF does excellent in Nissan J and D applications.

 

[unDummy]

Castrol/Pennzoil/Idemitsu/Amalie.... all make fluids that will work just as well in that unit requiring 'J'.

If Amsoil is your brand choice, feel free to use it.

This is the answer I was hoping for.

Will be placing my order for a 5 gallon container of Amsoil ATF shortly so I can do a flush.

Now if only it was this easy with my 2006 Tundra requiring WS.

For the WS, see if you can find Redline D6 in your area.
