Honestly not sure....I remember seeing it in the past year but I didn't take advantage of it until say 2 months ago. I don't think its a real PITA as it only comes into play once for each device. But yea..necessary.

you really only need one gear unless you care about efficiency. but really, 10 speeds should be more than enough for most riding.
