Costco is about the only place I shop in person. To address some of the common misperceptions expressed here by non-members... 1. Membership fee: this is refunded annually (and then some) if you are a regular shopper. 2. Crowds: get there when the

Jump to new posts question about old filters? by car51 @ 03/22/15 03:04 PM

So, does anyone know what happens to their old filters after say you take them to a auto parts place or recycling center? Had not thought much about it myself. I usually give mine to a older gentleman that crushes them down with a crusher, then he

KIA gets it next OCI and I plan to leave it on it indefinitely unless I hate it (not likely). I do like the idea of being able to run the full syn 5w20 in the winter and stay on the same oil, but I will mostly be running the 5w30 blend if not always

Oil Changer, I did read your post, and am sorry about your van's transmission. KCJeep, you didnt stock up on the FAR deals in 2012 where most auto chains had it, or get some like I did at wal mart for like under $10?

Yes, this is 800 imperial wet or dry on the sanding block. 0000 steel wool looks similar, actually I kind of like the 0000 wool cutting dynamic a bit better, but I'm at where im at. I'll note that the paper does cake up even with the soapy wate

SubLGT, if you can or are interested; do what I did last time and talk to someone at the rebate center as I did. 2 days after that mine said "in processing" then 3 weeks later I got mine.

Mobil's caveat on their 15k is "or 12 months" so time is a factor too. EP is likely the better oil but I'd still change it after a year with your short tripping.

That looks like it's been sanded with 320, perhaps 400. Is that what it looked like with 800?? The variation you're seeing is just that: variation in the finish level. You level with sanding between coats. First step in rubbing out is leveling, bu

If I didn't have an OLM, I might change oil after 15 fill ups or something like that. This would track oil degradation better than mileage.
