Very nice report...thanks for posting. I agree with your assessment that iron went up due to the cold starts. My experience with many uoa in my big trucks is that both iron and aluminum go up during a winter oci. Sometimes chromium shows up when it

All of the Speer Lawman ammunition is loaded to be a factory duplicate of their Gold Dot rounds of the same weight and pressure. For instance, Speer Lawman 115gr 9mm would be the same velocity and pressure as Speer Gold Dot 115gr 9mm. This is why mo

I used it last spring/summer in a 2014 a yam star bolt. Air cooled 950. Seemed like a good buy, $27 at Walmart. As if I could tell the difference, but everything was fine with it. In my climate here in the Seattle area I am thinking 20w-50 might be a

I bought a dozen WIX filters and used them over a period of five years with no issues. Cut the last one open after putting over 9,000 miles on it and it looked great. I just keep them in a closed plastic container stored in a metal cabinet in my gara

Ford specs atf for mt in mustang, and I'm sure it's the same tranny. My jeep specs 10w30, I run 5w40 hdeo and there isn't a thing different about the transmission behavior. There are less corrosive gl5s than others, but sulfur eats the yellow metal r

I think someone else mentioned it, but a decent compromise would be the WWB JHPs. They're not exactly high tech new hollow points that expand perfectly, but should be much better than any FMJ in a SD role. Inexpensive enough to use at the range mor

The problem with a hot 40S&W is that even though it has more power, that most of it is going to be wasted because of over penetration. It will not dump that energy into the target because it will continue to keep on going after it leaves the targ

Yeah, all that torque really shows through when you hook up a trailer. I've pulled 10k lbs with it a few times and its amazing how well it handles it. The fuel economy is nowhere near what Ford claims, but I've never owned a vehicle that came close

If Manuel put grease into your transmission, you should have a talk with him. Mercon ATF is the correct fluid for your manual transmission. 75w-90 gear oil probably didn't hurt anything though. Here is a copy of your owner's manual. Drain whatever

Having owned both a forester with OEM grolanders and a civic with snow tires ( currently my snow car), I would easily vote for the civic. The only advantage the forester has is the ground clearance.

If you would want to switch you can buy a cheap ATF and use that as a "flush" and then do another drain and fill using the stuff you intend on keeping there
