Merry Christmas to all! If you bought a TPMS tool, how has it worked for you? Were you able to reprogram your car if you changed to new snow tires. Let us know how you like the tool.

The "reset" tools will not reset or eliminate the fault (light) if you do not have sensors (on winter set for example). They are used to test and reset the system in case of a failure, or new sensor.

I don't understand why manufacturers even make these necessary. On any Honda car with TPMS, after you put air in the tire that's low on air, start the car, and wait about 2 mins, it will go out.

The only time the light will stay on or blink is if there is a hard fault. Once the fault is fixed, it goes out. No reset/initialize tool necessary.

When different sensors are used on that Honda, the car needs to be told the signatures on the sensors so the computer knows what to accept. The dealer will gladly take your $100 to do that for you.

Example: You buy a set of aftermarket wheels/tires/sensors online. They will mount/balance/install sensors, etc, and ship them ready to be installed. However, the TPMS will need to be programmed with the new sensors. This is where the reset/programming tool comes in.
