Posting this for member haggler. I’d say it’s a 3k OCI filter. One end-cap has wider felt area I noticed.

$2.97 at Wal Mart so I’ll sacrifice one for the BITOG faithful.

Thank you sir! @53' Stude been wanting to see this since the white cans came out. Very nice of you man.

This is the PF64 equivalent, which Supertech never had in the blue can. Is it just me or do these felt end caps look flimsier than the Fram made ones? I think I will stick with OEM PF64 for the lease.

Believe this is the high bypass (19-25 PSI) version for the newer GM engines that use the variable oil pump? If so, I think I would use something a little better built, looks a little flimsy & even a little lopsided!

yup, this is the higher bypass. It looks like a standard jobber and would probably hold up the factory OLM. I just don't like how the endcaps are glued. With the Fram extra guard, you can see it bonded nicely.

I'm somewhat surprised to see the felt/fiber endcap on this. Wondering if this a newer/newest ST series filter, or unlike ST9688 and MP series filters, this one never changed to metal endcaps. Topic design follows the 1st generation GM ACDelco filters for engines with no block bypass, felt endcaps, separate dome bypass. GM-ACD never used combo valve. Also wondering if there is an MP series filter in this application, and if so does it have metal endcaps. Anyway topic likely ok for 3-5k mi. oci, and separate bypass a good feature.

Thanks for c&p.

Yes, there is an MP12060 and its exactly like the PF64 except with the added bonus of a silicone ADBV. There's a way you can tell and its subtle. I've compared the 3 filters at Walmart and I'm pretty sure these come off the same line. The PF64 and the MP12060 have a slightly wider and thicker gasket on the base plate. The can MIGHT be thicker too. The improved gasket was a published feature in a recent GM notice about how ACDelco filters were being upgraded. If the ACD product is $5.99 again next time at Amazon, I'll get that. If not, then MP12060. I've stopped stockpiling ACDelco filters since they've changed them every so often.

So, for ~$5.50 every day you get same filter as the PF64 with added silicone adbv. If looking at the ACD, then the MP series purchase seems like a no brainer.

Recently looking at ST/MP series filters, couple WM stores had the MP7317 filters, application I would use. They look like a decent filter for the money. Biggest complaint I had about previous Champ made ecores (after improved nylon cage) like the ST, the combo valve. Now with separate bypass, metal endcaps and MP silicone adbv, worth consideration imo. Good to see 7317 being stocked, at least in MP series.

Nice to see - thank you for your time and excellent posts! I use these ST filters (if available for the application) and ST synthetic on my lower priced oil changes for customers. Looks like it meets the need but barely lol.
